Cover Image Specs
What are the dimensions for:
1) the cover, with bleed,
2) an inside single page, where the image will take up the full page (assuming no top running head, but bottom folio still there, overlaid)
3) a spread (same as above: with bleed, no header, folio overlaid)

Finished trim size of journal (covers as well as inside pages) is 8.375″ x 10.875″. So, the bleed size would be 8.625″ x 11.125″. In order to meet our printer’s specifications, the bleed must be symmetric–i.e., one-eighth inch on all four sides. (That should answer queries #1 and #2.)
The finished trim size of a two-page spread is 16.75″ x 10.875″. So, the bleed size would be 17″ x 11.125″. Again, according to the printer’s specs, the bleed should be symmetric–i.e., one-eighth inch on all four sides. (That answers query #3.)
For all queries #2 and #3, I assume you are talking about overlaying the bottom folio in knockout type, bleeding the image(s) off the bottom of the page, as well as the top and sides.
If I can be of further of assistance, please don’t hesitate to write again.
